Mystery Theatre Unlimited mourns the loss of our dear friend and longtime collaborator, Paul David Gregg, who passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Wheeling Hospital from complications of pancreatic cancer. His contributions to the local arts community, his remarkable talent, and his unwavering kindness will be deeply missed.

P.D. was an integral part of Mystery Theatre Unlimited from our earliest days. He first graced our stage in 1996, in our original holiday production of Slay Ride, playing the Tooth Fairy. From that moment forward, he became a cherished member of our ensemble, performing as a principal actor or understudy in 15 productions through 2004. His sharp wit, impeccable comedic timing, and warm presence made every performance richer.

His passion for theater extended far beyond Mystery Theatre. Before joining us, he was already making a name for himself in Wheeling’s comedy scene, joining Company B as an ensemble member in 1995. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to the local performing arts, lending his expertise in countless ways. At Oglebay Institute’s Towngate Theatre, he was a cornerstone of the community, offering decades of service in all things technical, while also leaving his mark through thoughtful direction and captivating performances.

Beyond the stage and the spotlight, P.D. was known for his kind and gentle spirit. His keen sense of humor, deep empathy, and unwavering generosity made him not only a treasured colleague but also a beloved friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to share in his life. The laughter and light he brought to the world will live on in the memories of those he touched. Rest in peace, P.D. Your legacy in the arts and in our hearts is everlasting.
