Since its founding in 1996, Mystery Theatre Unlimited has entertained the Ohio Valley with a unique mix of original comedy, music, and audience participation. Over the past 30 seasons, the troupe has staged more than 70 different shows—all but eleven written by local playwrights.
These productions have been brought to life by an ultra-talented ensemble of performers drawn from the Wheeling area’s vibrant arts community. Actors, singers, and comedians have rotated in and out of the company through the years, keeping the performances fresh while building a tradition of creativity and camaraderie.
From holiday staples like Slay Ride to outrageous parodies such as Harry 4gotter and the Pantry of Secret Sauces and My Big Fat Reality Wedding, the company has built a reputation for clever scripts, quick improvisation, and interactive fun that keeps audiences laughing and guessing. Performing everywhere from River City Restaurant in downtown Wheeling to theaters and special events across the region, Mystery Theatre Unlimited has become one of West Virginia’s longest-running live theatre traditions. Now entering its fourth decade, the troupe continues its mission to create smart, funny, and engaging interactive theatre for audiences of all ages.
